Access to clean, warm, and appropriate clothing is essential to maintain one's health and well-being. Clothing serves as a protective barrier against the elements, helping people stay safe from harsh weather conditions. Whether it’s warmth during the winter or protection from the sun, clothing is essential for preventing conditions like hypothermia or sunburn. Without access to proper clothing, individuals are at risk of illness and harm.
The Trinity Center is one location that provides valuable resources to help meet this need by offering free clothing for both women and men. They are a faith-based organization that serves the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the poor and homeless in Austin. Their goal is to honor and serve Christ by practicing hospitality and companionship with one another. One way they meet their goals is by offering free “shopping” for new and lightly used clothing to women on Mondays from 9:30 am -12 pm.

The Trinity Center also hosts events to provide resources like access to a computer, coffee and fellowship, case management, and resource referrals during their clothing closet.
"It was obvious to us that there are fewer services offered to homeless women, who are traditionally more vulnerable and at risk in the population." - Trinity Center.
Since 2005, Trinity Center has dedicated itself and its Monday program to addressing the lack of resources for homeless women. Through this program, they aim to create a safe and welcoming environment away from the streets for women and those who identify themselves as women.
The Trinity Center also supplies men with free clothing on Fridays from 9:30 am-11:00 am. This clothing drive is a first-come, first-served closet for up to twenty-five men.
